WHAT IS TRANSITION MOLDING, AND WHY DO YOU NEED IT?

Transition Molding is the buffer that helps you surface transition into the other so that there aren’t any abrupt or unfinished edges in your home. While they frequently go unnoticed, they’re essential both for the elegance and functionality of your floors. Transition Molding is also essential from a safety perspective, since it’s imperative to stop tripping between walking out of hard surface to carpeting.

The Functionality of Transition Molding

Transition Moldings possess a variety of functions like making a smooth transition from a horizontal flat surface into vertical surface, changing height gap, separating rooms, and offering a clear edge to a floor ledge. The transition moldings you choose may rely on installer taste and setup method so you ought to always get them engaged.

Commonly Used Transition Moldings

Stair Nosing is the most typical transition molding used in installations. This fine molding takes your flooring down a ledge with style by providing a curved drop. Stair nosing is offered in Flush and Overlap and must be selected depending on installment approach. Prioritize flush moldings when occupation site conditions allow.

For a transition to carpeting or tile in a different height, your installer will get a fantastic use for square nosing or end caps. These overlap the wood side and stay flush with an adjacent floor covering. If the floors matched up are both hard surfaces at the exact same height, a T-molding is often used to permit ample expansion space at a floating installation of engineered timber.

The molding that is installed at the bottom of your wall is called baseboard molding. Quarter-round or Baseshoe molding is set up in the base of the baseboard to pay for the expansion gap which is recommended by flooring manufactures to avoid buckling when the flooring expands during humid seasons.

Odds are, even in your home, there will be many distinct kinds of transitional molding that is necessary to protect the floors in your home. North Finchley Floor Sanding delivers a number of transition molding that will always be counted on for the attractiveness and function of your flooring.
